We will collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy at https://www.porsche.com/australia/privacy-policy/ which contains information about how you can access the personal information that we hold about you, how you can seek to correct it and how to complain about a suspected breach of your privacy or about how we have handled your personal information.

The entertainment services offer a digital experience in the vehicle and enable the integration of digital media and communication services. This includes the integration of radio services and the use of various online and productivity services. Users can customise their PCM by searching for, installing, updating and managing apps.

When using Internet radio, the system automatically switches between FM, DAB and online radio based on the connection quality. In addition, radio stations in the station list, favourites or shortcuts can be called up and streamed online.

In particular, we process the following personal data for this purpose:

  • Vehicle identification number,

  • user account,

  • Contract data,

  • Reception parameters (DAB/FM),

  • Current country & system language,

  • time stamp.

The data is stored for the duration of the enquiry and overwritten if the status changes. Usage statistics are stored anonymised for 12 months to improve service quality.

You can use the "Calendar/Conferences" service to access your personal calendars with third-party providers from your vehicle. By linking a mobile device, the calendar of this mobile device is connected to your vehicle. The service can also recognise addresses in calendar entries and use them directly as navigation destinations. It is also possible to dial into conference calls directly from the appointment if the appointment information is supported.

To enable you to jump to navigation or conference calls, for example, calendar content is processed in our system. By activating the private mode, the online functionalities of the service are omitted.

Using the "App Centre" service, you can download, update and manage third-party and proprietary apps in your vehicle and browse through the apps.

In particular, we process the following personal data for this purpose

  • Vehicle identification number,

  • Porsche ID,

  • Vehicle master data,

  • IP address,

  • Log files,

  • Time stamp.

The data is transferred to our supplier (Harman Becker Automotive Services GmbH) and Porsche AG. The transferred data is used to ensure that the app portfolio is available and up to date. The IT usage data is stored until the Porsche ID is deleted. The IP address and user access in the form of log files are stored for 30 days.

In addition, we record log-on and log-off processes in the vehicle to detect attacks on the vehicle systems. This data is stored for a period of 12 months. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest in a general improvement in cyber security. By activating private mode, the online functionalities of the service are no longer available.

We use contracted service providers to provide the above-mentioned services. Please note that servers of the service providers on which data is processed as part of the service may also be located outside Australia, including the European Union or the European Economic Area.

You always have the option of deactivating the service in the system settings of the PCM in your vehicle. There is also the option of deactivating the service as part of the whole service group.

The functionality of the service may be limited or no longer available after performing general deactivation in the system settings.

The navigation services offer optimised route guidance with dynamic adaptation so that traffic disruptions, for example, can be detected in good time and avoided. Map content updates automatically and remains available even in the event of short-term connection interruptions. The system also enables targeted searches for relevant locations.

For electric vehicles, the ‘Charging Planner’ optimises the route based on factors such as battery status, driving style and available charging points to ensure efficient and reliable routing.

To this end, we process the following personal data in particular:

  • user account,

  • location data,

  • contract data,

  • consumption data,

  • battery information,

  • plug type information,

  • user preferences (charging station provider, charging stations, minimum charge, route type preferences),

  • time stamp.

In principle, your data will only be stored for the duration of the request or query and will then be deleted. To avoid duplicate requests from multiple users, your data will be stored centrally by a service provider for a period of 30 days and used to allocate corresponding requests and content efficiently.

We use external service providers to provide the services. The servers of the service providers, on which data is processed, may also be located outside Australia, including the European Union or the European Economic Area. In addition, the aforementioned information transmitted from your vehicle to service providers can be stored anonymously by the service providers and thus used to improve the service or contribute to the services database.

You always have the option of deactivating the service in the system settings of the PCM in your vehicle. There is also the option of deactivating the service as part of the whole service group.

The functionality of the service may be limited or no longer available after performing general deactivation in the system settings.

By activating this service, you acknowledge and agree that your personal information is being collected by us for the primary purpose of providing the service to you.

The “Online Software Updates” function makes it possible to provide software updates for service packages and/or specific vehicle functions. These updates are usually completed over-the-air so that no visit to the workshop is required. Calendar

Using the "Calendar" service, you can access your personal calendars at third-party providers from your vehicle.

As part of the service, addresses can also be recognised in calendar entries and used directly as navigation destinations.

Direct dial-in into telephone conferences from an appointment is also possible in the case of supported appointment information.

If a calendar of a third-party provider is linked, a connection is set up to the respective provider via a calendar-specific QR code displayed by the PCM.

The calendar provider issues authentication keys which are stored in the Porsche system so that your Porsche ID account or your vehicle can access the respective calendar.

We require this information in order to assign your vehicle to your user account and to allow us to check that you are entitled to use the service.

In addition, we also use this information together with the time at which the service was accessed (timestamp) for the purpose of creating a database for anonymised usage statistics. We store the information for a period of 12 months for this purpose.

In order to display your calendar in the vehicle, calendar entries and corresponding content are transmitted to us by the third-party provider after the connection has been established. The content is then forwarded to your vehicle and displayed in the PCM. In order to provide you with other calendar functions such as navigation or telephone conferences, the calendar content is also processed for this purpose in our system. For transmission of your calendar information to the PCM, we use service providers who are commissioned by Porsche.

To allow you to jump to the navigation or telephone conference functions, for example, the calendar content is also processed in our system.

Activating privacy mode means that the online functionalities of the service are no longer available.

For more information about data protection in Porsche Connect, please refer to our privacy policy.

Navigation Plus

The "Navigation Plus" service enables you to use My Porsche, your Porsche App or your vehicle's mobile phone connection to

  • retrieve current or forecast navigation and traffic information along your route based on your previous destinations,

  • use real-time traffic information to display the current traffic situation on your route (real-time traffic),

  • add current satellite aerial photos to your navigation map (satellite map),

or

  • update your navigation map incrementally on the basis of your current location and active route guidance (online map update).

In addition, you can also use the "Navigation" sub-function seamlessly across all output devices.

For the "Navigation" sub-function, you can select, enter and save destinations in the My Porsche App and in your vehicle's PCM. These destinations are synchronised between your vehicle's PCM and the Porsche App when you pair your device.

When you select the service in your vehicle, PCM (Porsche Communication Management, the central control unit for audio, navigation and communication services) initially registers with our system using the vehicle identification number.

If you select the service in My Porsche or via the My Porsche App, you register with your Porsche ID.

We require this information in order to assign your vehicle to your user account and to allow us to check that you are entitled to use the service. The legal basis for this is the fulfilment of a contract concluded with you.

After the connection has been established, to determine the information you requested, depending on the sub-function;

  • for navigation, the current location, the current speed, the current direction of travel and, where applicable, active or forecast navigation destinations and the associated route guidance,

  • for real-time traffic, the current location, the current speed and the current direction of travel

  • for satellite maps, your current map section based on the location of your vehicle and, if applicable, the other map sections along your route,

The data transmitted is used to determine the information you have requested. The information is then assigned to your vehicle by our system and transferred to your vehicle's PCM.

Your data will be stored for the duration of the query for this purpose and will then be deleted. The legal basis for this is the fulfilment of a contract concluded with you.

If you use the My Porsche App for the request, the location of your device will be used instead of your vehicle location and the search results will be transferred to the My Porsche App.

For the Online Map Update sub-function, the servers of the service providers establish the map version currently used by your navigation system and the region to be updated, and check whether any new map material is available. If new map material is available this is incrementally transmitted directly from the external service provider servers to your navigation system.

The legal basis for this is the fulfilment of a contract concluded with you.

In addition, the aforementioned information transmitted from your vehicle to service provider without any personal information can be used to improve the service or contribute to the services database. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest in improving our service.

We use service providers commissioned by Porsche to provide the sub-functions of Navigation Plus. Please note that the servers of the service providers on which data is processed in the course of the service may also be located outside the European Union or the European Economic Area.

Activating privacy mode means that the online functionalities of the service are no longer available.

For more information about data protection in Porsche Connect, please refer to our privacy policy.

Finder

The "Finder" service allows you to determine Points of Interest near your location, along your route, or at your destination online using My Porsche, your My Porsche App and your vehicle's mobile phone connection. You can also call up dynamic information about Points of Interest such as occupancy status, current ratings and prices, current opening times and other available information.

When you select the service, PCM (Porsche Communication Management, the central control unit for audio, navigation and communication services) initially registers with our system using the vehicle identification number.

If you select the service via My Porsche or the My Porsche App, you register with your Porsche ID.

To enable a connection to be established to your vehicle’s PCM, a time-limited authentication key is exchanged between our systems and your vehicle’s PCM.

We require this information in order to assign your vehicle to your user account and to allow us to check that you are entitled to use the service. The legal basis for this is the fulfilment of a contract concluded with you.

In order to determine the search results based on the requested search term and the location, destination and route information, after the connection has been established, the relevant search term, the current location of your vehicle and, where appropriate, your navigation destination and your route will be transferred by our system to the relevant service provider.

The transmitted data is used to generate information to enable online Points of Interest to be displayed. The information is then assigned to your vehicle by our system and transferred to your vehicle’s PCM.

If you use the My Porsche App for the request, the location of your device will be used instead of your vehicle location and the search results will be transferred to the My Porsche App.

Your data will be stored for the duration of the query for this purpose and will then be deleted. The legal basis for this is the fulfilment of a contract concluded with you.

In order to avoid the need to repeatedly retrieve for information in the event of identical requests from several users, your data will be stored centrally by a service provider for 30 days and used to classify corresponding requests and content.

The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest in improving the performance of our service.

We use service providers commissioned by Porsche to help us determine Points of Interest and the associated dynamic information. Please note that the servers of the service providers on which data is processed in the course of the service may also be located outside the European Union or the European Economic Area.

In order to make recurring search terms available more quickly in a preselection, search terms entered in the PCM of your vehicle or in your My Porsche App will be included in in-vehicle search statistics. These search statistics can be deleted by restoring factory settings or by reinstalling the My Porsche App.

The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest in improving our services.

Activating privacy mode means that the online functionalities of the service are no longer available.

For more information about data protection in Porsche Connect, please refer to our privacy policy.

In addition, we also use this information together with the time at which the service was accessed (timestamp) for the purpose of creating a database for anonymised usage statistics. We store the information for a period of 12 months for this purpose. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest in improving our service offering.

As further outlined in this document, we and various third parties may be able to track and monitor the vehicle’s location using the SIM and/or GPS functionality.

Unless otherwise stated, this tracking will start immediately and will be continuous and ongoing.

You consent to this tracking and warrant and must ensure that all drivers or users of the vehicle are aware of this location tracking and consent to it also. We rely on this consent for the purposes of provision of the services to you and any other driver or user of the vehicle.

We may use, disclose and process this location data (which may include personal data) for the purposes outlined in this document and our Privacy Policy.

The "Valet Alarm" service enables your  My Porsche App to notify you automatically you if your vehicle leaves a defined geographical area around your location while being valet parked or if the vehicle exceeds a specified speed limit.

When this service is active, your vehicle's wireless interface for vehicle-related services initially registers with our system using its vehicle identification number.

To enable a connection to be established between your device and the required systems in order to display the location, a time-limited authorisation code is exchanged between the service providers' servers and your device.

We need to collect, use and disclose this information, which includes personal data, in order to assign your vehicle to your user account and to allow us to check that you are entitled to use the service. The legal basis for this is the fulfilment of a contract concluded with you.

In addition, we also collect, use and disclose this information, which includes personal data, together with the time at which the service was called (timestamp) for the purpose of creating a database for anonymised usage statistics. We store the information for a period of 60 days for this purpose. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest in improving our service offering.

To alert you when a speed limit is exceeded or when your vehicle leaves the defined geographical area, the speed of your vehicle during use is first recorded within your vehicle and continuously compared with the speed you set. If the set speed limit is exceeded, a message will be sent to the connected device.

After the Valet Alarm is activated, the  My Porsche App accesses your vehicle's location data and defines a limited geographical radius on this basis. This is transmitted to our system together with the predefined speed limit and from there to your vehicle. The legal basis for this is the fulfilment of a contract concluded with you.

The information transmitted by your vehicle will be stored in our system to display the incident, the result history and the vehicle location. The information will be displayed in your My Porsche App. The legal basis for this is the fulfilment of a contract concluded with you.

In order to display the vehicle's location on a map, when the location of the vehicle is checked using your My Porsche App, the location date on which a map display is requested, as well as the map radius you have requested will be transferred from your device to the servers of a service provider. The transferred data is used to determine the corresponding maps for the relevant area. This data is then transferred to your device in order to be displayed. Your data will be stored for 12 months for this purpose and will then be deleted. The legal basis for this is the fulfilment of a contract concluded with you.

We disclose data, including personal data, to service providers commissioned by Porsche to display the current location of your vehicle in your My Porsche App. Please note that the service provider's servers on which data (which may include personal data) is processed in the course of the service may also be located outside of Australia.
