Porsche Connect
Data protection information
Carfinder
The "Carfinder" service enables you to call up your vehicle's current location using My Porsche and your Porsche Connect App. You can also display this location on an online map.
When this service is active, your vehicle's wireless interface for vehicle-related services initially registers with our system using its vehicle identification number.
To enable a connection to be established between your device and the required systems in order to display the location, a time-limited authorization code is exchanged between the service providers' servers and your device.
We require this information in order to assign your vehicle to your user account and to allow us to check that you are entitled to use the service.
In addition, we also use this information together with the time at which the service was called (timestamp) for the purpose of creating a database for anonymized usage statistics. We store the information for a period of 12 months for this purpose.
To enable you to see the location of your vehicle, the current position of your vehicle is transferred to us by your vehicle every time the engine is started or stopped, when your vehicle's doors or tailgate are opened or closed, when defined battery levels are reached, and when activated by you through requests for the vehicle location via My Porsche and your Porsche Connect App. The transmitted data is used to generate information to enable the vehicle's location to be displayed. The information is subsequently displayed in My Porsche and in your Porsche Connect App. The data will be stored in our system for this purpose until the next status change and will be overwritten when the status changes.
We use service providers commissioned by Porsche to display the current location of your vehicle in My Porsche and in your Porsche Connect App. In order to display the vehicle's location on a map, when the location of the vehicle is checked using My Porsche and your Porsche Connect App, the location date on which a map display is requested, as well as the map radius you have requested will be transferred from your device to the servers of a service provider. The transferred data is used to determine the corresponding maps for the relevant area. This data is then transferred to your device in order to be displayed. Your data is stored for this purpose until it is overwritten by new, requested data. All stored data is deleted when you delete your user account.
You always have the option of deactivating the service in the system settings of the PCM (Porsche Communication Management, the central control unit for audio, navigation and communication services) of your vehicle. There is also the option of deactivating the service as part of the whole "Location Services" service group.
The functionality of the service may be limited or eliminated by performing a general deactivation in the system settings.
For more information about data protection in Porsche Connect, please refer to our Privacy Notice.
Horn & Indicator
With the "Horn & Indicator" service, you can use your My Porsche App to remotely control a horn or flash/indicator signal from your vehicle.
If you issue a corresponding command to generate a horn or flash/indicator signal via the My Porsche App, this will be transmitted together with your Porsche ID to our system and from there to your vehicle.
In order to assign the command to your vehicle, the wireless interface for vehicle-related services of your vehicle transmits the vehicle identification number of your vehicle to our system.
In order to be able to display information about the status of the execution of the command, your vehicle then transmits a status message. The information transmitted by your vehicle will be stored in our system for display purposes. The information is displayed in your My Porsche App.
As a database for creating anonymized usage statistics, we store every service call by your vehicle or your customer interface together with your vehicle identification number and a time stamp for a period of 12 months.
By activating the private mode in the system settings of the PCM (Porsche Communication Management = central control unit for audio, navigation and communication) of your vehicle, you can deactivate the data transfer with our system via the wireless network connection of the interface for vehicle-related services of your vehicle. Deactivation does not include data transmission for certain emergency services. By activating the private mode or, alternatively, by disabling the remote access in the system settings of the PCM of your vehicle, you also prevent access to information in your vehicle via the My Porsche App. As a result, the functionality of the service may be restricted or may no longer be available.

Voice Pilot
Using the "Voice Pilot" service, you can make voice inputs or have them converted into text via the mobile network connection in your vehicle and thus control services and apps as well as search for and enter destinations by voice dialogue, among other things. Through use of position information, voice inputs relating to destinations can be checked for plausibility by the system and the quality of the voice input improved. You can also have news and other information read out by the function.
When you select the service in the vehicle, your vehicle's PCM (Porsche Communication Management) initially logs into our system using the vehicle identification number.
In order to establish a connection between your vehicle and the service provider commissioned by Porsche, a time-limited authentication key is exchanged between our systems and the PCM of your vehicle.
We require this information in order to assign your vehicle to your user account and to allow us to check that you are entitled to use the service.
In addition, we also use this information together with the time at which the service was accessed (timestamp) for the purpose of creating a database for anonymized usage statistics. We store the information for a period of 12 months for this purpose.
In order to permit voice input, an audio file is transmitted after a connection has been set up from the PCM of your vehicle directly to the corresponding service providers together with the selected language, where applicable the selected service and the current version information. Using the transmitted data, the service provider creates text files and semantically interprets these if applicable. The results are then transmitted back to the PCM of your vehicle. In the case of voice control of destination inputs, the search terms that have been converted into text and the vehicle position are exchanged with navigation and search service providers for determination of route and destination information.
The current position of your vehicle is transmitted in order to check the plausibility of voice input of destinations and thus improve the quality of voice input. To enable your request to be assigned, an authentication key is also exchanged with the servers of the service providers.
We use service providers to execute and provide the service.
In order to continuously improve voice conversion and semantic interpretation, the data transmitted to the service provider as well as the results determined by the service provider are stored for a period of 90 days and evaluated in anonymized form.
You always have the option of deactivating the service in the system settings of the PCM (Porsche Communication Management) in your vehicle. There is also the option of deactivating the service as part of the whole "Services with geolocation" service group.
The functionality of the service may be limited or no longer available after performing general deactivation in the system settings.

To be able to assign the command to your vehicle, the wireless interface for vehicle-related services of your vehicle transmits the vehicle identification number of your vehicle to our system.
To be able to display information about the status of the command execution, your vehicle then transmits a status message.

To enable a connection to be established to your vehicle's PCM, a time-limited authentication key is exchanged between our systems and your vehicle's PCM.
We require this information in order to assign your vehicle to your user account and to allow us to check that you are entitled to use the service.
In order to determine the search results based on the requested search term and the location, destination and route information, after the connection has been established, the relevant search term, the current location of your vehicle and, where appropriate, your navigation destination and your route will be transferred by our system to the relevant service provider.
The transmitted data is used to generate information to enable online Points of Interest to be displayed.
The information is then assigned to your vehicle by our system and transferred to your vehicle's PCM.
If you use the App for the request, the location of your device will be used instead of your vehicle location and the search results will be transferred to the App.
Your data will be stored for the duration of the query for this purpose and will then be deleted.
In order to avoid the need to repeatedly retrieve for information in the event of identical requests from several users, your data will be stored centrally by a service provider for 30 days and used to classify corresponding requests and content.
We use service providers commissioned by Porsche to help us determine Points of Interest and the associated dynamic information.
In order to make recurring search terms available more quickly in a preselection, search terms entered in the PCM of your vehicle or in your App will be included in in-vehicle search statistics. These search statistics can be deleted by restoring factory settings or by reinstalling the App.

In order to be able to show you information and statistics about the trips made with your vehicle, each time the engine is switched off and when trips are reset in your vehicle, the
length of the completed trip
duration of the trip
average speed
and average energy consumption
will be transmitted to us by your vehicle. The data will be stored in our system for this purpose until the next status change and will be overwritten when the status changes.
We use service providers commissioned by Porsche to display the current location of your vehicle in the My Porsche App.
You always have the option of deactivating the service in the system settings of the PCM (Porsche Communication Management, the central control unit for audio, navigation and communication services) of your vehicle. There is also the option of deactivating the service as part of the whole "Services without Geolocation" service group.
The functionality of the service may be limited or eliminated by performing a general deactivation in the system settings.

In addition, we also use this information together with the time at which the service was accessed (timestamp) for the purpose of creating a database for anonymised usage statistics. We store the information for a period of 12 months for this purpose. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest in improving our service offering.
To enable you to see information about the current technical status of your vehicle, every time the engine is started or stopped, when your vehicle's doors or rear lid are opened or closed, when defined battery levels are reached and when activated by you, the
remaining range
vehicle position
vehicle direction
fuel level
current mileage
the locking status including the status of doors, windows, bonnet and rear lid
parking light status
as well as warnings displayed on your instrument cluster control unit
will be transmitted to us by your vehicle. The data will be stored in our system for this purpose until the next status change and will be overwritten when the status changes. The legal basis for this is the fulfilment of a contract concluded with you.
We use service providers commissioned by Porsche to display the current location of your vehicle in My Porsche and in your Porsche Connect App. Please note that the servers of the service providers on which data is processed in the course of the service may also be located outside the European Union or the European Economic Area.
You always have the option of deactivating the service in the system settings of the PCM (Porsche Communication Management = central control unit for audio, navigation and communication) of your vehicle. There is also the option of deactivating the service as part of the whole "Services without geolocation" service group.
The functionality of the service may be limited or no longer available after performing general deactivation in the system settings.

Location Alarm
The "Location Alarm" service enables you to define and activate up to four circular geographical areas on an online map using your App. When the vehicle enters or exits these areas, a message is triggered which you can receive via your App.
To alert you when your vehicle enters or exits the defined geographical area, the location of your vehicle is first recorded within your vehicle and continuously compared with the geographical area you have defined. If the vehicle leaves the defined area, a message will be sent to the connected device. In order to be able to provide you with the appropriate notifications, your vehicle also transmits its current location and a timestamp.
The information transmitted by your vehicle will be stored in our system to display the incident, the result history and the vehicle location. The information will be displayed in your App.
In order to display the vehicle's location on a map, when the location of the vehicle is checked using your App, the location date on which a map display is requested as well as the map radius you have requested will be transferred from your device to the servers of a service provider. The transferred data is used to determine the corresponding maps for the relevant area. This data is then transferred to your device in order to be displayed.
We use service providers commissioned by Porsche to display the current location of your vehicle in your App.
You always have the option of deactivating the service in the system settings of the PCM (Porsche Communication Management, the central control unit for audio, navigation and communication services) of your vehicle. There is also the option of deactivating the service as part of the whole "Services with Geolocation" service group.
The functionality of the service may be limited or eliminated by performing a general deactivation in the system settings.

Navigation Plus
The "Navigation Plus" service enables you to use your My Porsche App (“App”) or your vehicle's mobile phone connection to
retrieve current or forecast navigation and traffic information along your route based on your previous destinations,
use real-time traffic information to display the current traffic situation on your route (real-time traffic),
add current satellite aerial photos to your navigation map (satellite map),
retrieve and anticipate alternative routes for frequently made journeys without active navigation (Personal Routes) or
update your navigation map incrementally on the basis of your current location and active route guidance (online map update).
In addition, you can also use the "Navigation" sub-function seamlessly across all output devices.
For the "Navigation" sub-function, you can select, enter and save destinations in the App and in your vehicle's PCM (Porsche Communication Management, the central control unit for audio, navigation and communication services). These destinations and routes are synchronized between your vehicle's PCM and the App when you pair your device.
When you select the service in your vehicle, the PCM initially registers with our system using the vehicle identification number. If you select the service via the App, you register with your Porsche ID.
We require this information in order to assign your vehicle to your user account and to allow us to check that you are entitled to use the service.
After the connection has been established, to determine the information you requested, depending on the sub-function;
for navigation, the current location, the current speed, the current direction of travel and, where applicable, active or forecast navigation destinations and the associated route guidance,
for real-time traffic, the current location, the current speed and the current direction of travel
for satellite maps, your current map section based on the location of your vehicle and, if applicable, the other map sections along your route.
The data transmitted is used to determine the information you have requested. The information is then assigned to your vehicle by our system and transferred to your vehicle's PCM.
Your data will be stored for the duration of the query for this purpose and will then be deleted.
If you use the App for the request, the location of your device will be used instead of your vehicle location and the search results will be transferred to the App.
For the Online Map Update sub-function, the servers of the service providers establish the map version currently used by your navigation system and the region to be updated, and check whether any new map material is available. If new map material is available this is incrementally transmitted directly from the external service provider servers to your navigation system.
In addition, the aforementioned information may be transmitted from your vehicle to a service provider without any personal information to be used to improve the service. We use service providers to provide the sub-functions of Navigation Plus.
Activating private mode means that the online functionalities of the service are no longer available.

Speed Alarm
The "Speed Alarm" service enables you to define speed values via your App which, if exceeded by your vehicle, trigger a notification that you can receive via your App.
To alert you when a speed limit is exceeded, the speed of your vehicle during use is first registered within your vehicle and continuously compared with the speed you set. If the set speed limit is exceeded, a message will be sent to the connected device. In order to be able to provide you with the appropriate notifications, your vehicle also transmits its current location, the current speed of the vehicle if the limit has been exceeded, and a timestamp.

Traffic Light Information
The Porsche2X service allows you call up traffic signs for your location and route via a wireless connection in your vehicle or to display current hazard warnings near your location, along your route, or at your destination.
When you select the service in your vehicle, the PCM (Porsche Communication Management, the central control unit for audio, navigation, and communication services) initially registers with our system using the vehicle identification number.
To enable a connection to be established to your vehicle's PCM, a time-limited authorization code is exchanged between the service providers' servers and your vehicle's PCM.
We require this information in order to assign your vehicle to your user account and to allow us to check that you are entitled to use the service.
In order to determine the current traffic signs and hazard warnings based on the location of your vehicle, your vehicle's PCM will transfer the current location, speed and direction of travel of your vehicle directly to the service providers' servers.
The transmitted data is used to generate information about traffic signs and hazard warnings and to transmit this within the relevant area for the current journey.
The information is then assigned to your vehicle by our system and transferred to your vehicle's PCM.
Your data will be stored for the duration of the query for this purpose and will then be anonymized.
In addition, details of traffic signs detected by a camera on your vehicle and, in corresponding cases, information about hazards detected by sensors on your vehicle may be transmitted by your vehicle to the service provider and used by them to improve their services, without providing your personal information or vehicle identification number.
We use service providers to determine and provide the traffic signs and current hazard warnings.
You always have the option of deactivating the service in the system settings of your PCM. There is also the option of deactivating the service as part of the whole "Services with Geolocation" service group.
The functionality of the service may be limited or eliminated by performing a general deactivation in the system settings.
