Personal data must be recorded and processed for using some Porsche Connect services. It is very important to us that you know exactly and can even decide yourself which data will be collected and processed for which purpose and exactly how this will be done. You will find information about this in our Privacy policy. The current version of the Privacy policy is always available from the Porsche Connect Store.

To enable our partner network to provide you with even better help and support, we also ask you during registration to give us permission to exchange data with your selected Porsche partner. You can object to your data being used at any time by sending an e-mail to connectgmbh@porsche.com. Please note however that doing so can reduce the range of Porsche Connect functions and some services may no longer be available to you.

You will find purchased services in the PCM immediately after you restart your vehicle.

There are various ways of establishing a data connection in your Porsche. The connection options then depend on how the data connection is established.

Data connection via the embedded SIM card (availability dependent on country): You can establish a data connection using the embedded SIM card. You can also make and receive calls using a smartphone connected via Bluetooth. It is not possible to have a data connection via the embedded SIM card and a telephone connection via an inserted SIM card in parallel.

Data connection via an inserted SIM card: If you are using a separate, data-enabled SIM card, you can establish a data connection via this SIM card. You can also make and receive calls using a smartphone connected via Bluetooth. Alternatively, you can make and receive calls using the inserted SIM card in some countries. In this case, if you have an LTE connection, it is possible to make and receive calls in parallel with a data connection, depending on your provider. If a data connection is established via the EDGE mobile phone network (GSM)/2G network, the data connection will switch off when using the phone.

Data connection via the hotspot on your smartphone: If you use the WiFi hotspot on your smartphone in the vehicle, the data connection will also be used through this. You can also make and receive calls via Bluetooth. In this case, if you have an LTE connection, it is possible to make and receive calls in parallel with a data connection - depending on your provider. If a data connection is established via the EDGE mobile phone network (GSM)/2G network, the data connection will switch off when using the phone.

The availability and functionality of Porsche Connect services can vary in individual countries and depends on whether the individual Porsche partners provide content in the various countries.

To use Porsche Connect services in another country, you must first activate Roaming in the PCM.

Activating Roaming in 911, 718, Macan and Cayenne models: Press PHONE > OPT and select SET PHONE > Roaming (Ticked: Roaming activated).

New Panamera: Select Device manager (under SET or DEVICES, depending on model year) > Options > Data connections > Roaming (Box ticked: Roaming activated).

Activating the Roaming function can result in additional costs, depending on the selected mobile phone tariff or which country you are visiting. We recommend an All Inclusive Roaming option.

To deactivate the data connection on your PCM, please proceed as follows:

New Panamera: Select Device manager (under SET orDEVICES, depending on model year) > Options > Data connections > Data connections > OFF

911, 718, Macan and Cayenne models: Select PHONE button > OPT button > SET PHONE > Data connection > Data connections > OFF.

An active data connection will be indicated by a corresponding symbol at the top right (new Panamera) or bottom left (all other models) of your PCM. The type of data connection is identified by LTE (connection via LTE network), 3G (connection via UMTS network) or E (connection via GSM/EDGE network). If there is no letter displayed, there is no data connection. When there is an active data connection via the WiFi hotspot on the PCM, a "WiFi symbol" will appear at the top right (Panamera) and bottom left (all other models).

If you want to use your phone only for making and receiving calls, connect it via Bluetooth and deactivate the active WiFi hotspot on your smartphone if necessary. When connecting your phone to the PCM, also make sure that you decline the data usage option. A data usage query may be displayed in the PCM.

To deactivate the data connection, please proceed as follows:

New Panamera: Select Device manager (under SET or DEVICES, depending on model year) > Options > Bluetooth > Access to SIM card > Deactivate.

911, 718, Macan and Cayenne models: Select PHONE button > OPT button > SET PHONE > Bluetooth > Bluetooth devices > relevant smartphone > Details.

All supported Bluetooth profiles are displayed. Connected profiles are ticked. If the smartphone is connected via SIM Access Profile (SAP), please select Hands-free phone (HFP) (hands-free profile). The SAP connection is disconnected and the smartphone is connected via HFP. This setting remains stored for the next connection setup.

The availability and functionality of the Porsche Connect services can vary in certain countries. You will find further information about the availability of the services in your country at porsche.com/connect or from your Porsche partner.

To store your PIN in the PCM, please proceed as follows:

New Panamera: Device manager (under SET or DEVICES, depending on model year) > Options > Phone > SIM card > Note PIN.

911, 718, Macan and Cayenne models: Select PHONE button > OPT button > SET PHONE > Phone > SIM card > Note PIN.

An "Access Point Name" (APN for short) is used for logging into a network provided by a mobile phone provider. With some providers or SIM cards, it is possible to select several access points and this allows you to connect to the provider via different access points. If you do not know which APN is the right one, please ask your mobile phone provider. You can then store this in the settings for the data connection in the PCM.

The pairing code is an 8-digit code, which you must enter in the APPS menu in the PCM so that you can transfer your personal services configuration from My Porsche. You will find the pairing code in the detailed view of a vehicle under My vehicles in My Porsche.

Please make sure that a data connection is established. Real-time traffic information must be activated using the PCM map view in the MAP menu. To do this, go to the map options, which you will find at the top of the PCM screen (new Panamera) or at the right edge of the screen (all other models) in the map view and activate Online Traffic. Please note that the real-time traffic data is not available for all roads.

To do this, go to the map options, which you will find at the top of the PCM screen (Panamera models) or at the right edge of the screen (all other models) in the map view and activate GOOGLE® Earth. For all roads for which a GOOGLE® Street View imaging service is available, you will find a yellow figure - the so-called "GOOGLE® Pegman" - at the bottom right of the map view. You can use this to activate GOOGLE® Street View. You can also activate the Street View function by zooming into the map. Please note that this view is not available while driving in some countries because of legal requirements.

GOOGLE® Earth must be activated using the Map view of the PCM. To do this, go to the map options, which you will find at the top of the PCM screen (Panamera models) or at the right margin of the screen (all other models) in the Map view and activate GOOGLE® Earth.

As soon as you have connected your smartphone for using Apple® CarPlay, all Bluetooth functions are shown via Apple® CarPlay and the PCM functions are deactivated. In other words, the telephone function is only available to you via Apple® CarPlay. That is a requirement of Apple® and cannot be influenced by Porsche.

You have various options for establishing an Internet connection via the PCM:

  • Connection via the embedded SIM card (availability dependent on country).
  • Connection via a SIM card inserted in the SIM card reader of the PCM.
  • Connection via the WiFi hotspot on your smartphone.

After you have activated the mobile hotspot on your phone, call up the Data connection menu item in the Device manager in the PCM or touch the corresponding icon. You will then be prompted to search for external WiFi hotspots on the PCM. Once you have found your mobile hotspot, you must enter the required password on the PCM (at least 8 characters). The connection will be established automatically after you enter the correct password.

If a data connection is established, you will find the POIs you added in My Porsche under: NAV > FAV > Stored destinations > Portal POIs.

Make sure that the list of POIs you want is available for the vehicle in My Porsche by selecting the option Update POI lists in the vehicle. If a data connection is established, you will find the POIs you have added under:

911, 718, Macan and Cayenne models: Select NAV button > OPT button > SET NAV > Navigation database update > Online update > Portal Points of Interest.

New Panamera: Select NAV > DEST > Points of interest > Portal List POIs > desired POI list.

The services will still be available to you until the end of the term of the services registered to you.

You can find out which services are available in your country and which of these services you can configure according to your personal preferences in the My services menu in My Porsche.

Your identity must be verified by means of an official identity document in order to meet the telecommunications laws and regulations in some countries. You can easily verify your identity online using the video identification procedure.

You need a valid personal ID or passport.

Many modern identity documents have security holograms for added security, particularly personal IDs and passports from the European Union, Turkey, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and USA.

As a user, you can use the video identification procedure free of charge.

The video identification procedure can be used from Monday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. CET.

Video identification is carried out by an external service provider - IDnow GmbH. For successful identification, you need:

  • A valid identity document
  • PC with webcam or smartphone/tablet with camera installed
  • Internet connection

The identification process involves a video chat between you and an employee of the external service provider and takes about three to five minutes. During the video call, the employee asks you to hold your identity document up to the camera and flip it in order to check all data and safety holograms.

GOOGLE Chrome and Mozilla Firefox are compatible browsers. Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Apple Safari and Opera are not compatible.

The following browser settings are necessary for a successful video identification procedure:

  • Enabled access to camera and microphone
  • AdBlocker deactivated if necessary
  • Firewall deactivated if necessary
  • VPN access disabled if necessary

It is not possible to use a compatible browser on a smartphone/tablet. The video identification procedure can only be used via smartphone/tablet using an app. You can download this app free of charge from the App Store® or GOOGLE® Play Store.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to use both at the same time. On Apple® CarPlay, the PCM telephone function and thus the embedded SIM card will be deactivated.

The PCM does not support wireless Apple® CarPlay. If you want to use Apple® CarPlay, you need to connect to the PCM via USB.

Up to three regions can be updated per update. If you need additional regions, please contact a Porsche partner.

If a data connection is established, you will find the Online Map Update in the PCM under:

911, 718, Macan and Cayenne models: NAV button > OPT button > SET NAV > Navigation database update > Online update > Select download package and the desired region if necessary > Start.

New Panamera: NAV > MAP > Options > Navigation settings > Map data update > Online update > Select download package and desired region if necessary > Start update > Start.

Depending on the model and equipment, you can connect your phone via Bluetooth, USB, AUX or Apple® CarPlay and access your music. Further information about this can be found in your Driver's Manual.

iPhone®: Unfortunately, Apple iPhone® does not support this function.

Select the message that you want read aloud and touch the loudspeaker symbol on the PCM.

To use the dictation function, touch the microphone symbol in the message box.

Define your personal POIs (Points of Interest) or My Destinations in the Connect app and then connect your phone to the PCM hotspot.

Yes, you can manage all vehicles that are equipped with Porsche Connect Plus using your Porsche ID.

As the main user of a Porsche Connect vehicle, you can enable other users, e.g. family members, for your vehicle and its Connect services. Each secondary user then gets his/her own Porsche ID and can configure the services according to his/her personal preferences. But only the owner of the vehicle can purchase services.

As the main user, you can add a secondary user on the vehicle details page in My Porsche. This person then receives an e-mail containing a registration link.

The secondary user has his/her own Porsche ID and can only use the Connect services in the vehicle that were booked by the main user. A secondary user cannot buy any other Connect services or access the main user's personal data and services configuration.

You can manage, i.e. add and even delete, your secondary users on the vehicle details page in My Porsche.

To change your personal data, please log into My Porsche. You will find a link to your Porsche ID account and your profile data at the top of the screen in My Porsche and you can use this to change your data.

If your name has changed, please contact your Porsche partner or Porsche Connect Support.

You can add new credit cards or delete existing credit card details at any time in My Porsche using your Porsche ID account. Unfortunately, it is not possible to change existing credit card information.

You are the only person who can delete your Porsche ID.

No. Your Porsche ID remains valid. You can use it to add new vehicles at any time. When you sell your Porsche, however, you should delete your vehicle from the Porsche ID account.

To change your password, please log in using your Porsche ID. You can then change the password in your account.

You receive notifications from Porsche, e.g. your invoices for purchases in the Connect Store, via the Notifications menu in My Porsche. You can also use this to send notifications to Porsche Connect Support or to your Porsche Centre if necessary.

If you sell your vehicle, please delete the relevant vehicle in the Porsche Connect portal. This does not affect your Porsche ID.

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously and treat it with complete confidentiality. In our Privacy policy, we provide you with information about which personal data we collect, process and use in relation to your use of Porsche Connect and for what purposes. The current version of the Privacy policy is always available from the Porsche Connect Store.

Further information about data protection in relation to individual services is also available in the product description of the services in the Porsche Connect store.

You can add another vehicle or remove existing vehicles at any time under My vehicles in My Porsche.

If you cannot add your Connect-enabled vehicle, please contact your Porsche partner or Porsche Connect Support.

You receive the invoice for your order via My Porsche. You will get a notification e-mail as soon as new invoices are available for you.

You can delete your account data at any time using your Porsche ID account.

If the Porsche Connect services are not available, there may be a number of reasons for this:

1) No Internet connection

Please check first whether you have an active Internet connection. This will be indicated by an EDGE, 3G or LTE symbol on your PCM screen. On the Panamera models, you will find this symbol at the top right of the screen. The symbol is at the bottom left on all other models.

Important information for SIM card:

If there is no Internet connection, please check first whether you have enabled a data connection for your SIM card in the PCM. Further information about this can be found in your operating instructions. Also contact your mobile phone provider to check whether your remaining data allowance is sufficient. A possible cause can even be a temporary dead zone that has interrupted the data connection. If you are abroad, you may have to activate the Roaming option in the PCM and on your mobile phone.

And lastly, please check that the SIM card and your phone are working. If you have any questions, please contact your mobile phone provider.

Important information for embedded SIM:

Please check that there is no SIM card in the SIM card reader of the PCM.

2) No active Porsche Connect contract

To use the Porsche Connect services, you need to have an active contract. Before using the Porsche Connect services for the first time, you must accept the general terms and conditions of business and data protection provisions in My Porsche. Your contract period begins after that.

Some Porsche Connect services include a free inclusive period. At the end of this test phase, the services contracts can be renewed subject to a charge in the Porsche Connect Store. You can find out whether there is an active contract and the length of time remaining in the contract in My Porsche or in your PCM by selecting the menu item APPS at the top of the screen under Service information (new Panamera) or in the APPS menu by pressing the OPT button for all other models.

If the reasons given above do not resolve the problem, please contact Porsche Connect Support.

Only those apps in the iPhone® that are supported by Apple® CarPlay are displayed. You will find further information about Apple® CarPlay and the supported iPhone® apps at: CarPlay.

If the content of the Porsche Connect app is not displayed on the PCM, please carry out the following steps:

  1. Make sure that the latest version of the Porsche Connect app is installed on your mobile phone. You can download the app free of charge from the App Store® or GOOGLE ® Play Store.
  2. Start the Porsche Connect app and save a destination in your personal App Destinations list, for example, as a test.
    • Connection via the embedded SIM card (availability dependent on country).
    • Connection via a SIM card inserted in the SIM card reader of the PCM.
    • Connection via the WiFi hotspot on your smartphone.
Connect to the Internet via the PCM:

Please note that the Porsche Connect app must be open all the time so that you can use the functions on the PCM.

Generally, the connection status can be displayed under Settings in the Porsche Connect app. Once connected via WiFi, you should be able to access the functions of the Porsche Connect app using the APPS menu in the PCM. If this is not the case, please contact your Porsche dealer or Porsche Connect Support.

The loading speed is mainly determined by the quality of the Internet connection. Please check the quality of your connection (e.g. Edge, 3G or LTE) first. For optimal use of the services, we recommend a data connection with a 3G or 4G (LTE) data transfer rate.

Please check first whether the Services licence is still active. You will see the remaining term of the contract under My services in My Porsche as well as in the Porsche Connect store as soon as you log in.

For an optimal Porsche Connect experience, the range of services available is continuously being enhanced and optimised. As a result, it is possible that the availability of services for your vehicle and in your country can change.

Please check first that you are logged into the Porsche Connect store using your Porsche ID. You can only see your vehicle when you are logged in.

To run the Connect app, you need Android 5.0/iOS 9.3 or higher. You will find this information in the App Store.

You will find an overview of compatible phones under Models > Selected model > Catalogues & Brochures on the Porsche website for your country, e.g. at porsche.de: Models > 911 Carrera > Catalogues & Brochures > Via Bluetooth.pdf.

You can use the Porsche Car Connect app to display vehicle information, such as the fuel level or the current mileage. You can also use it to control selected vehicle functions.

You can use the Porsche Connect app to transfer destinations, your smartphone calendar and your music, for example, from your smartphone to the PCM.

You will find the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the vehicle identification document for your vehicle, at the bottom left of the windscreen or under My vehicles in My Porsche.

Porsche Connect Support provides you with telephone support for all questions about Porsche Connect, e.g. about your contract, the services in the vehicle, registration or using services.

You can contact Porsche Connect Support by phone and by e-mail. You will find all relevant contact information in My Porsche. You can also send a message to Porsche Connect Support using your notifications in My Porsche.

If a 0800 number is available, calls to Porsche Connect Support are free. Otherwise, the local standard rates for a call to a landline apply.
